eCities
The eCities 2014 project is now closed. At the annual luncheon in November we will recognize our 2014 Participating Communities. The project is free and open to all communities across the State of Michigan. Communities that participate in this annual survey receive a free benchmarking report and other opportunities to further support their economic development efforts. 

 

Featured Case Studies:                   

iLabs surveyed 600 members of the Jewish and Muslim communities in July and August 2013 to understand more about where opportunities exist to promote deeper cross-cultural connectivity. Research findings were presented at the 2014 conference: A Shared Future: Jews and Muslims in Metro Detroit, which was co-sponsored by American Jewish Committee Detroit  (AJC) and Michigan Muslim Community Council (MMCC). [ More ]

Ford Motor Fund Sustainable Communities Needs Analysis
The Ford Motor Fund has partnered with iLabs for a two-phase project. The project engages non-profits and students in developing sustainable solutions for the operational issues that non-profits face. The Economic Impact of Detroit Metropolitan Airport 2013
In Summer 2013 iLabs, the University of Michigan-Dearborn's Center for Innovation Research, worked with Detroit Metropolitan Airport to understand the direct and indirect impact of metro-Detroit's largest airport across the state and within the Detroit Metropolitan Air Trade Area. [ More ]

Through the Department of Labor’s Workforce Innovation in Regional Economic Development (WIRED) Initiative, iLabs conducted a major empirical survey of 25-34 year olds who had some college experience but did not graduate. [ More ]

Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport 2006 Economic Impact Study
Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) is crucial to the health of the state and region. Over 18,000 employees work at the airport itself, but this represents only a fraction of the overall jobs impact of the airport. People throughout Michigan have a stake in its continued success.
